moments ticking by
click click
like clouds in a spring sky
tick tick tock
we run from day to day
click click click clock
not much to say
tick tick
or feel until
click click
something or someone
tick tick tick
wakes us up
click click click
to what is possible
tick tick tick tock
to what matters
click click click clock
and why we are here
tick click tick clock
tock.

This is a lovely poem. I liked its rhythms and its dry wisdom.
ReplyDeletei loved your work! it was a beautiful reminder to me to seek out and enjoy the 'precious' in the midst of my mudane routine of daily living. thank you for that :)
ReplyDeleteyeah i like the rhythm of this one as well...heres to hoping we all wake up soon. smiles.
ReplyDeleteWe do get quite mesmerized with all the clicking and ticking of time, don't we? Great piece.
ReplyDeleteVery nice hurrying rhythms!
ReplyDelete"Something or someone
ReplyDeleteWakes us up"
You lit a match with this one, and started something. This is good.
Love your message.
ReplyDeleteLove the ending...tick click tick clock...tock....reminding us that time marches ever onward.
ReplyDeleteThe rhythms of living - sometimes we get so caught up in them, we miss "what is possible" and "what matters."
ReplyDeleteNice one, C.M.
Like being on a train ride, which is what life is, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteThat final 'tock' speaks volumes...
Oh!!!!!! I liked this!
ReplyDeleteHi there! I love the rhythm of your poem ... very nice ... and good to meet you too!
ReplyDeleteYes, how is it that our lives are governed by the mechanical ticking of arbitary hands on a dial? Is it only when the clocks stop that time takes over?
ReplyDeleteI like this poem. And my house is quiet with hubby gone. Nothing but the tick tock.
Time, it is a treasure, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteExactly! And some time what or who wakes up, is not something we want to face. Time is a precious gift...easily lost.
ReplyDeleteI liked the cadence of this one.
