This is love
Gondolas rock with the tide
Your hand resting on my shoulder
As the pale morning sunlight rises
Parting the curtains revealing
A city suspended in light
Art and arias
Waiting to be discovered
As we walk hand in hand
Our continuum revealed
Like molten glass
Murrine and millefiore
Fiery red
Azure blue
Venetian gold
Reflected in our eyes
Sipping wine
Frozen in time
Always there
Rocking
Glistening
Never forgotten.

nice...i enjoy trips into the city...there are so many so many layers to discover...nice flow to this...
ReplyDeleteC., your imagery and language are gorgeous in this verse. I was arrested by the first two lines. The colors and textures are rich, and what about those words 'murrine and millefiore' — just resplendant! Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteThis is so fully realized, from the gondolas on forward.."art and arias"..beautiful...
ReplyDeleteSublime! These words, strung together as you've written them, sound great out loud. It's magpie music! Very cool.

ReplyDeletevery murano!
ReplyDeleteRomantic memories of a beautiful time with a loved one - wonderful:-)
ReplyDelete"A city suspended in light" I loved this so romantic. I was going to use murrine too but the lines I had just wouldn't fit in anywhere. Great job!
ReplyDeleteLove the take on the glass...so reminds me a day in the Napa valley...wine tasting, art and shopping...and being in love...bkm
ReplyDeleteA cityscape, a heartscape,
ReplyDeletecatapulting us from sojourn
to solace, infusing love in
the fires of blown glass,
with lithe and boisterous lines
like /our continuum revealed/
like molten glass/, and both
a fresh take on the image prompt
but more, a sumptuous feast.

Lovely imagery, a gentle flow just like the gondola's rock and such a nice connection between the place and the glass and the prompt . . . well done!
