Old maple stands against a melon sky. Another year, whirligigs ready, leaves waiting for release; no one expects that you can last through the next winter. I spent the last ten years talking to you and shielding you from harm. It’s personal now. Age affects us all. How can we weather the coming storms together?
Have a story to tell? If you can tell it in 55 words--make certain you tell the g-man! It is after all, Flash Friday! Have a great weekend all!

nice 55. i know i am tangenting but we love those whirlygigs...brought several into the house to toss off the loft...lol.
We used to put those things between our teeth and make a whistling sound with them.
Excellent Nature Loving 55 CM..
You Rocked this one!
Thanks for visiting, thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End...G
Raising them from 'babies' is rewarding. My 55 celebrated Earth Day as well.
I used to hate those whirlygigs at our old house surrounded by maples, ground littered with whirlygigs. Somehow, you've managed to make me miss them in just a few words. I love the idea of talking to a tree, and I love..."no one expects you can last through the next winter."
Nice Earth Day flash.
I read this and I think of so many things we try to save, you know.
I totally can relate to this from being a single mother once.
Thank you for sharing.
Mine is here

...a melon sky...
I can see it when you write growth and life with such clarity.
Beautiful.
