Flash Friday-"It's a Great Day for America!"

Time flies when
You are having fun
Don’t know if that’s true
But it certainly helps
If you get to see
Craig Ferguson
A Scotsman
Now proud American
Make it to Carnegie Hall
Telling stories
Acting silly
Be forewarned
Practice, practice
Is how one gets there
But with comedy it does help
If one swears.

C.M. Jackson 2010

Yep, you've made it to Friday and if you can say it in 55 words, you MUST go tell the g-man. Happy weekend all!

I don't care if they swear or not.

If one makes it to Carnegie Hall, then they have indeed made it. But, yes, there are no Red Skeleton's or Bob Hope's out there in today's comedy land. One must swear nowadays to be considered funny. I guess.

Yep, it does. There must be something about irreverence that tickles the funny bone. Makes you wonder. Nice 55.

I don't think I have what it takes to be so expressive in 55 words - my pieces usually run from 600 to 1,100 words, and they're nowhere near as funny or provocative - so I'll just sit here and remain quietly enthralled by your ability with a pen.

I dig CF...and happy he made it to Carnegie Hall...I have a friend who is a comic and he doesn't use f..en bad language but admits it's hard.

Interesting how that works in this society. --- Is it just like that in America? I wonder if other country have the same dilemma with humor?
